Activities

Shows - First and foremost, there will be 16 Sanctioned Dairy Goat Shows with 4 outstanding American Dairy Goat Association Judges. We are running 2 two-ring shows for Senior Does, one on Saturday morning and the other on Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon we will be having a four-ring Junior Doe show. With this configuration we can get a lot of work done in a short period of time and, if everyone behaves, we can get you home early on Sunday for evening services. Not only is this a great opportunity to watch and learn but there is a potential of 64 championship legs being awarded.
The planning for the 2008 Bluff Country Show began at the end of the 2007 show. We are assembling a variety of awards and prizes for the winners and those lucky ones that win a drawing.
Rock Fest - We will be having our 2nd annual rock fest, so come bring your favorite rock, appropriately decorated or painted and you can enter it in the rock competition. Read the contest rules carefully. Competitions are as follows:
Adult Division - 2 prizes, from a drawing & a People's Choice Award
Youth Division - 2 prizes, from a drawing & a People's Choice Award
Shown below is the beautiful afghan from Wood & Stream Creations (www.goatgifts.com) that will be the People's Choice Award in the adult's Rock Fest competition.
Show Prizes - For those who actually come to show goats, we have a potpourri of prizes for the winners, including homemade brooms (handcrafted by goat ladies), potted mums, handmade grooming or barbecue aprons from Peggy Daubert, etched wine glasses (wine not included) and floral garden art. Honestly, local people come to our show just to see the smiles on the faces of the winners of these great items.

As a Sweepstakes Prize we are offering a Bluff Country Fall Weekend of your choice as guests of Marge & Earl Kitchen, Karyl Dronen, and Mary & Doug Thompson. 2007 was a little unusual since we had such cold weather but it didn't get in the way of a good time. We really enjoy getting to know the winners and showing them the beautiful landscape and interesting sites and shops to visit in Bluff Country...not to mention the terrific feasts that the hosts provide. Check out the 2007 activities.
Food - We have another great barbecue dinner planned. This year it will be beef brisket. Our chefs from last year are back by popular demand and we will have live music during dinner that will sooth the tattered souls of even the most intense exhibitors. The 4-H lunch stand will be available on Saturday and Sunday for all your nutritional needs.
